Origins of Seva

Seva was founded in the Fall of 1993 by Dr. B. S. Sridhar and late Mrs. Nasreen Majid. Seva, in Sanskrit, means service. Volunteers from the Indian community began serving lunch on Saturdays at Salvation Army, Appleton. After ten years of successful operation, recognizing the commonality in their respective missions and membership, Seva merged with IndUS of Fox Valley in 2003 and it became the charitable arm of IndUS. On an average, Seva volunteers serve approximately 6000 meals per year.
